DIY Microneedling – How to Use a Hydra Needle

Microneedling has become a popular treatment for those who want smoother skin and a youthful glow on their face. This can also help a number of skin issues like deep wrinkles and stretch marks, to name a few. While this procedure is available in spas and aesthetic practices, microneedling products are now in the market for those who want to do less invasive minor treatments for skin firming and other benefits.

So how do you use a Hydra Needle? You need to lay down or at least tilt your head and start from the top of your face to ensure even coverage. Make sure that the needles are perpendicular to your skin to make thin and minimal punctures. Use pressure on your skin for the hydra needle to take full effect, then rub your serum onto the face. Finally, rinse your skin with clean water.

Microneedling is one of the most requested aesthetic services today – add one of our best-selling pens to your practice today at a fraction of the price of our competitors! Microneedling can even be performed by Aestheticians in most states!

Hydra needle is a good method that helps solution take effect inside the skin. It is micro needle device for delivering cosmetic and hair growth solution into the dermis by lightly tapping it on your skin especially around eyes. 20ea of micro needles with the same hair thickness forms fine holes in the skin without pain . Also Special spiral system is designed on each of those micro needles through which the solution flow down and can be transferred into dermis very directly and effectively.

How to Use a Hydra Needle
Not all Hydra Needles are created equal. When purchasing your Hydra Needle (also known as a Hydra Stamp), take note that these come in different brands, so consider the quality, reviews, and product description when browsing. Alternatively, you might come across a product called the “Hydra Roller”. Hydra Needles are similar to microneedling pens, while Hydra Rollers are similar to derma rollers, so choose which one you’re more comfortable working with.

If you find Hydra Needles with different needle lengths, avoid getting those equipped with 2-millimeter needles or longer. This is not recommended for at-home use and can cause extensive scarring. Many Hydra Needles are sold individually, but given that Hydra Needles are disposable and only last a few uses before the needles go dull, it might be more practical to buy in larger quantities.

Preparing Your Skin
Before you can start microneedling, it’s important that you check whether or not you’re suitable for microneedling use. Anyone can do microneedling, but if any of these apply to you, we highly recommend you don’t until these issues clear up.

People with active bacterial infections on their skin. This includes acne cysts, staph infections, psoriasis, eczema, and others. This also includes people who are seeking treatment for these infections but are not fully healed. If you proceed with microneedling, there’s a risk that bacteria can enter the microchannels and cause a deeper infection.
People with a history of poor wound healing. Microneedling relies on your skin’s self-healing mechanisms, so a history of poor wound healing could affect the results.
Women on their periods. Your skin is more sensitive right before and during your period, so wait until after your period ends to perform microneedling to avoid making your treatment more painful.
Otherwise, it’s time to start preparing your skin!

Wash your face thoroughly with warm water and a gentle cleanser, then pat dry with a clean towel.
This step is optional, but those with sensitive skin types might have difficulty tolerating the puncturing, apply a topical numbing cream or any over-the-counter topical product to your face. Let it sit for 20 to 30 minutes, or as directed on the product description.
Using a clean cotton pad or cotton ball, gently wipe your face with 70% isopropyl alcohol solution. This is to cleanse your skin and prevent bacterial infection. Wait for the alcohol to dry before you begin microneedling.

Preparing Your Hydra Needle
Next, let’s prepare your microneedling device. Keep in mind that the Hydra Needle and the Hydra Roller are different (the Hydra Needle is closer to a microneedling pen, while the Hydra Roller is more like a derma roller), and cleaning the Hydra Roller head can be different.

Whether you’re using your Hydra Needle for the first time or you’re reusing it, it’s a good practice to disinfect Hydra Needle. Fill a container with enough rubbing alcohol solution to submerge your Hydra Needle’s parts. Let it sit for 10 minutes, then take it out and let it dry completely.
Add your serum of choice into the applicator vial. You can use any serum, but keep in mind that serums with thicker consistencies can be difficult to dispense during the procedure. Some serums you can consider include hyaluronic acid (for skin hydration), vitamin C (for dull skin), and any serum that promotes anti-aging treatments, but you can opt to use your favorite product as long as its consistency can provide optimal delivery.
Attach the microneedling head to the applicator vial. Remove the cap before application.

Using the Hydra Needle
Make sure you are in a clean environment before beginning the procedure.

When using the Hydra Needle, make sure you are laying down or at least tilting your head back. The device should be vertical so that the serum dispenses evenly on all the needles and has optimal delivery.
Start at the top of your face and make your way down to ensure an even treatment throughout your face.
When stamping the Hydra Needle, make sure the needles are perpendicular to your skin surface. If you do this, the microchannels will be thin and minimal. If you puncture your skin at an angle, the microchannels are wider and more prone to bleeding and scarring.
Use even pressure every time you stamp the Hydra Needle. Continue downwards in an organized fashion to ensure every portion of your face is punctured uniformly and evenly.
After you’ve finished puncturing, if you still have serum on your face after the treatment, rub it gently into your skin for better absorption.
Rinse your face with clean water (don’t use soap or any cleanser) and pat dry.
No downtime is needed for at-home microneedling, but keep in mind that your skin may feel sensitive to the touch for a few days after treatment. At-home microneedling shows huge improvements on your skin with weekly or bi-weekly use.

Cleaning Your Hydra Needle
Disassemble your Hydra Needle and wash all the parts with dishwashing soap. This can remove residual blood and remaining skin tissue on your Hydra Needle.
Soak the cap, needle attachment, and vial with alcohol for 10 minutes.
Let your Hydra Needle components completely dry before storing it.
If your Hydra Needle is a single-use device, replace the cap of the Hydra Needle and dispose of the microneedling tool properly. For Hydra Needles that can be used multiple times, check if the needles are dull; if it is, dispose of your Hydra Needle. Otherwise, you can start cleaning your Hydra Needle.

Hydra Needles are fairly easy to use. Although similar to automatic microneedling pens, Hydra Needles are more affordable and have the advantage of dispensing serums into your skin while the microchannels are still fresh. This gives you the maximum benefit of both your skin’s natural response of increased collagen production as well as the benefits from the serum of your choice.

The Vaney Hydra Needle is a revolutionary single-use microneedling/microchanneling device used to inject a variety of serums into the skin. The sterile vial holds a signature “cocktail” prepared especially for each patient based on that individual’s skin concerns. This “cocktail” is then infused through 20 gold tip needles to produce optimal delivery of serums into the skin.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO SEE RESULTS?
Many patients notice a skin plumping and brightening effect immediately but results are usually seen 3-7 days after treatment and typically last approximately 3-4 months (depending on the condition being treated, your lifestyle, and overall skin quality).

HOW OFTEN CAN I GET IT DONE?
This procedure can be done as often as every 1-3 months, as doing several treatments throughout the year will continue to improve long term skin quality. We find that Hydraneedle treatments work best in a series of 3 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
The cost of the treatment is determined by the cocktail, which may include ingredients like: hyaluronic acid, your own PRP (platelet rich plasma), and neuromodulators (i.e. Botox, Xeomin, etc).

The Vaney Hydra Needle is an effective microneedle device for delivering cosmetic serum into the skin. With just a light tapping motion, the serum flows into the skin, using less product and delivering the serum under the dermis. The microneedles have the same thickness as hair and pierce the skin painlessly.

Instructions:
Wash the treatment area prior to use
Sterilize the unit before and after each use
Use just a few drops of serum per treatment
Prime the device by tapping on the back of your hand a few times
Be sure the device is vertical when using so the serum comes out evenly
Tap in an even pattern over the treatment area
If you have serum on your skin after the treatment, rub it lightly into the skin
For individual only.
Do not share the device with other people

The Vaney Hydra Needle used by dermatologists increases how much serum you absorb by 80%, while stimulating collagen to generate new skin – effectively treating your wrinkles, discolouration and acne scars from just 3 sessions.

This will change how you do skincare
Did you know that only 4-8% of your serums and creams actually penetrate according to research. Here’s the problem you really face. You have a thick outer layer of skin that acts as a barrier to dirt and bacteria, and unfortunately, all of your skincare products. This means, no matter how much money you spend, you’ll be stuck dealing with wrinkles, lax skin, discolouration and old acne scars, unless you stop slathering skincare products over this dead skin layer.

The Hydra Needle is a device that treats your skin conditions in an entirely different way. The high quality bottle dispenses your serums, while tinie 24 karat gold-plated microneedles create channels in your skin that get ingredients where they’re needed to really be effective. Doing this even tricks your body into starting it’s healing process to create new glowing skin. At clinics, this treatment costs 1000s, that’s why this device has been custom made for your easy personal use.

How it works
The device has 20 small micro-needles that only go up to 0.6mm and are thinner than a human hair. When dotted on the skin they create pathways that lead your products directly past your outer skin layer. In other words, they don’t penetrate far enough to be a risky procedure or cause pain, but far enough to get important ingredients into your skin and make your serums actually work. In fact, it increases absorption by up to 80%.

Needles 0.5mm and above can also delve into the second layer of skin triggering your body’s wound healing response, at which point the following occurs: (1) The skin releases substances that stimulate growth, leading to new healthy skin being created, (2) the skin starts to produce more collagen leading to fewer wrinkles and much firmer skin.

Benefits for your skin
Tackles all signs of ageing
Microneedling can lead to a 400% rise in collagen, something we know greatly reduces wrinkles and works wonders for loose or thinning skin. It’s actually the secret of many celebrities. You may have heard of 40 year old Kim Kardashian’s vampire facials, this is a type of microneedling procedure. You’ll be able to use your Hydra Needle anywhere to reap these benefits, including crows feet, ‘laughter lines’, the chest, neck and back of your hands.

Improve the overall look of your skin
Thanks to its ability to speed up the production of collagen, elastin and growth factors, microneedling can repair and rejuvenate the overall look of your skin. In fact, a study in the International Journal of Dermatology labelled microneedling as the new way to achieve “skin rejuvenation, tightening, and scar remodelling” adding that it offers a “simple and effective treatment for photo-aged skin”.

Fades acne scarring
Microneedling has been found to fade acne scars for all skin types. These scars are often quite rooted in the skin’s layers that the micro-needles are able to reach. When the skin is pricked, the needles help to break down any scar tissue. In another study on the effects of microneedling nearly 100% of acne-scarred participants reported a significant improvement in their scars.

Remove skin discolouration
Microneedles treat hyperpigmentation by normalising pigment cells, peeling the skin and increasing the effects of lightening ingredients like vitamin C. It even has a positive impact in the treatment of melasma, a skin condition that appears as blotchy, brownish facial pigmentation.

Reduce pore size
Another benefit of microneedling is that it helps pores appear smaller. As it stimulates collagen in and around your pores, it causes them to appear plump and reduced.

The top benefits of this wonder treatment

Highly effective
The Hydra Needle is the only home microneedling device that allows you to benefit from microneedling, and insert your serums at the same time to ensure faster and immediate absorption of active ingredients.

No downtime
The Hydra Needle is an easy treatment that comes with no downtime, just some short-term redness. The micro-holes created also close within 24 hours, meaning you continue resume applying make-up and other products by the next day.

Painless
The thin short nature of the 0.25mm needles means you feel no pain at all. With the 0.5 and 0.6mm needles, some experience enough discomfort that they want numbing cream – but don’t worry; you can get this from any drug store or on Amazon. Using our short needle lengths means pain-free treatments, and that means you are far more likely to stick to a regiment, get more effective sessions in, and see real results.

Full control over your treatment
This device allows for real personalised treatment. You get to choose the serum based on your skincare needs, how many micro-channels you want to create (tens or hundreds), whether to target only your problem areas or the whole face and the right pressure to use based on your tolerance level.

Why it’s become the go to device

Simple to use
The Hydra Needle is incredibly simple to use, and only requires dotting the device on the skin. It also automatically controls the penetration depth, which is why you don’t need to be a professional to use it. This means you can skip the learning curve and avoid unnecessary side effects.

Better with small areas
The device was made to be small enough to get to hard to reach areas such as: above the lip, the nose area, around the eyes and the forehead. Essentially, this means you can use it on all the areas you worry about.

Treats the entire body
Microneedling can be done on the entire body, including the arms, back, legs and face.

Safe and high quality materials used
The needles on this device are made of strong titanium, and plated with 24K gold, a metal with natural anti-inflammation properties.

Why the Hydra Needle is better than the alternatives

Less trauma to the skin than derma rollers
Studies have found that derma rollers cause unnecessary damage to skin. Due to its cylinder shape, the needles are exiting and entering at an angle, which creates tearing around the holes. With the upgraded Hydra Needle, the needles are entering straight down, so the holes are only as wide as the very fine needles. This means a significantly faster healing time.

Results without the risky injections
This device is a great option for those who want clinic-like results but are phobic of long needles, don’t want risky surgical procedures or who want that natural ‘not had work done’ look. Even dermatologists are using this to deliver botox, vitamin c and other top ingredients. For you, this means getting the main benefits of a popular clinic treatment affordably and at home.

Safer than lasers (for all skin types)
Microneedling works in much the same way laser treatments do, but instead, you’re injuring the skin mechanically instead of using heat or light. This means there’s less risk of hyperpigmentation for all skin types. In fact, research in the journal Dermatologic Surgery found both laser treatments and microneedling to be comparably effective but gave credit to microneedling for being better tolerated, with fewer side effects and less downtime.

Far more evidenced than jade rollers
Jade rollers may help with puffiness (due to being cold) and improve circulation (due to massaging motions), but there is no scientific research backing them, and thus, they are not recommended or used by professionals. Microneedling devices, on the other hand, have extensive research proving their effectiveness, and are common treatments at clinics.

Tips
Be sure to sterilise your device before and after EACH use.
If you’re using a length of 0.5mm and over, you’ll also need to wipe down your face with 70% isopropyl alcohol before the microneedling process. You can do this after applying numbing cream if you require it.
Never use excessive pressure while microneedling. Be gentle (similar to pressing the button on an elevator). Some pressure is good, but more is not necessary better.
If you’d like to stamp further in, hold the skin taut.
Serums have different viscosity and this influences how well they exit your device. Try to choose a serum that does not have a thick texture.
Also note, the faster you stamp the Hydra Needle, the more serum will be dispensed. If you find that your serum is not being released adequately, lightly shake the Hydra Needle, or angle slightly.
Avoid needling around the eye area with any needle length longer than 0.25mm, and go over this area incredibly lightly.
Also tread lightly around the forehead where the skin is thinner and around the jawline where it’s easier to scar.
Never drag the Hydra Needle across your skin as this can lead to scratches.
Do not use irritating products, such as chemical exfoliates e.g. salicylic acid and lactic acid, active ingredients like benzoyl peroxide, retinol or tretinoin ect during or after treatment. Experts advise stopping such treatments 4 days before microneedling.
Avoid wearing makeup, sunscreen and tanning lotion immediately following treatment, as these were not designed for deep penetration.
